Doctor & Staff

Meet the experienced and friendly doctor and staff who make Wise Vision Care a proud provider of vision care products and services in Elizabethtown.

Dr. Wise

Dr. Teresa Wise obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1989 from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. She attended both Eastern Kentucky University and Fairmont State College in West Virginia for her undergraduate studies. Dr. Wise began her career working as a leasing doctor for Pearle Vision in Bowling Green and opened her own private practice in Elizabethtown in 1995. In 1997, she expanded her business by purchasing the practice of Dr. Mike Noel after he passed away.

Dr. Wise is originally from Pikeville, Kentucky but made Elizabethtown her permanent home after marrying Robbie, who is from E-town. Dr Wise and Robbie are now also involved in the floral industry after purchasing Etown Florist in January of 2016. They have no children, but have now become the proud owners (parents) of 2 Shih-tzus!

Debbie (Optometric Assistant)

Debbie serves as both the optometric assistant and back-up receptionist. Her main job in our office is pre-testing the patients and training new contact lens wearers. She is the perfect person for this job due to her extreme patience and friendly disposition. She has been a member of our staff since 1996.

Debbie was born and raised in Elizabethtown. She is married and the mother of 1 son and 1 daughter. She has 3 granddaughters. Debbie is a member of Severn’s Valley Baptist Church where she teaches a Sunday school class for kindergarteners. She enjoys reading and crocheting and her entire family are avid UK fans.

Tara (Licensed Optician)

Our office is proud to have Tara working in our dispensary. She has many years experience in frame sales, adjustments, and repairs, as she has been working in the optical field since 1994. She became a licensed optician in 2002.

Tara graduated from North Hardin High School. She has been married for 10 years. She has two boxers named Luke and Leia. She is a Carolina Panther fan and her hobbies include spending time with her dogs and watching movies.

Mari (Receptionist/Insurance Billing)

We are pleased to have Mari working in the position of receptionist and insurance billing. She welcomes all our patients with a friendly smile. Mari is retired from USPS and worked at Etown Florist for 6 years prior to joining us in July of 2016.

Mari is married and has one son and two grandsons. Her hobbies include reading, photography, furniture restorations, and baking.

Donna (Web Site/Social Media)

Donna joined Wise Vision Care staff in August of 2016 to maintain our Web Site and social media. She is retired from IBM and works part time at Etown Florist.

Donna is married with one son, one daughter, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Donna is a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Hodgenville where she teaches Sunday school.
